6am I am awoken by my handler a lady called Liz. She softly shouts my name to activate my systems.

"Bo? Wake up sweetie it's time for work"

My visual servers switch on opening my eyes, I can see again. The restaurant is empty and quiet. I can hear the other animatronics greeting their handlers.

Liz pulls me from the kitchen to the dining hall; my motor systems haven't fully switched on so she gently tugged me along using my foot wheels to provide me with motion.

"We have three parties today all with children you've seen and served before so you don't need to be scared Bo" she kindly pats my hand.

I feel my body now able to move and I walk over to the place where the staff keep the lists of party guests, take it off the counter.

My visual sensors flick from each name of the children to their pictures storing them for when the children arrive, I can't get this wrong, I am programmed to serve, entertain children.

My audio sensors pick up Liz approaching and I turn around to look at her, my ears droop and I wring my hands together.

"You're worried about the parents again aren't you?"

I nod; we did not need a repeat performance of last time.

"It wasn't your fault buddy, that horrible witch shouted you over she shouldn't have given you that cup, we warn them not to hand you things like that"

A female guest had called me over by my alias of "Bo" which the staff and children use. I am programmed to respond to it, she handed me a half full still hot coffee cup. My hands aren't as articulated as human ones the cup fell from my grasp and on to her lap.

Liz was almost sent into storage for defending me. The boss wasn't happy and wanted to restrict my service. Liz and the other handlers defended me saying it was a design flaw, it was the woman's fault etc.

"Will you ever talk to the staff again buddy?" Liz asks gently petting my arm.

I gaze at her for a moment, listen to the happy rabble from Freddy's band and their three human handlers both human and animatronics interacting.

I was programmed with a voice; it was quiet, timid sounding. The boss told Liz it was like that to settle children down, appear friendlier despite my height. I tried to use my voice to calm the woman down after the coffee incident it didn't work. She shouted things and screeched over me.

Now I only spoke to the children and occasionally Chica the chick if she approached me.
It was party time the children began arriving.

"Hello Livy, hello Sam, hello Michael, hello Louise" I cheerfully greeted the children that approached me they happily responded and interacted with me. Asking questions, hugs, high fives.

This was the part of the day I enjoyed being with the children.

It was time to bring the food out.

I was in the kitchen awaiting Chica's shout and the sound of the bell, Liz stood beside me.

"See today has been good Bo, you've done a good job" she warmly smiled.

I put my hand on her arm in a gesture of thanks and was about to verbally say it as I heard.

Ding.

"Orders up my little chicks"

I gathered plates filling trays two at a time and took them out skating across the room to place each plate of pizza and a cupcake in front of each child.

Visual sensors detecting obstacles like dropped coats, cups, spills, chairs, bags, other people and creating another route.

I received a "thanks Bo" from almost every child.

I began to return to the kitchen.

"Hey! Sheep thing?"

What was that? Somebody calling me?. I saw Liz quickly walking out to me. What was wrong?

"You missed a child, where is my son's plate?" A man’s voice aggravated and growly like that woman's was.

"Don't turn around Bo, you don't have to fetch this one out this one isn't with the party" Liz whispered to me.

"Don't you go taking him away lady; I paid so my kid could see these things!"

Liz looked furious, I tilted my head to look at Freddy's band they were glaring in the direction of the man, saying things I couldn't pick up to their handlers. I picked up the words "help him", "throw out", "things?", and “can't talk to him like that".

Liz sighed, turn to the man and put on a forced smile.

"Of course sir, Bo here will bring your son's pizza out right away" she said through gritted teeth.

She lead me back to the kitchen.

"I'm so sorry buddy you're going to have to do this one" she apologised as she placed the pizza, the drink and the cupcake on the tray.

I paused for a moment to give her a look and shake my head, she would apologise about everything almost as much as me, I took the tray off her and left the kitchen.

The children now seemed more interested in my escapade than eating as they watched as I skated past considerably slower than when I provided their meals.

I reached the table; this was a child I did not recognise directly. I couldn't put a name to the child I couldn't do my routine.

I began to place the items down quite distracted trying to name this child, drink first which stood up perfectly, Cake which was placed down fine.

Then as a name clicked from my audio memory of Freddy saying the name of that particular child.

I made a mistake.

"You're billie... You like playing baseball and Freddy is your favourite yes"

"Dad how did he?"

My motor senses twitched causing my arms to jolt usually not a problem as my endoskeleton would stabilise itself however my visual sensors misjudged the distance from the table, the still oven fresh pizza fell from my hands into the lap of the adult.

I went blank.

Everything was fuzzy the noise, the room, the people

I saw Liz and the other handlers run over to me, Freddy and the band begin to distract the children, some of the parents tear their children away, come to the man.

The boss, showed up.

I heard the words "danger", "hazard", "shut down", "sue".

Liz was arguing with the man and the boss.

The rest of the handlers took me to the kitchen.

I began to overheat, flailing and flapping trying to escape.

"Bo it's okay" Chica's handler tried to placate me.
"They'll talk it out don't worry, you'll see"

Liz came back in clearly upset, that made me feel something. Anger? Protectiveness? Dread?

"Boss wants to shut him down, for good, sacked me in the process... I'm so sorry Bo"

I felt afraid and tried to back away.

"I can't go into storage the children need me!... Liz can't go in storage I need her!" I finally forced my vocalisation software to say.

The last thing my memory data shows was Liz apologising sincerely, hugging the trunk of my body then it faded to black.

I woke up due to the sound of the dining bell, Chica calling "Orders up".

I moved stiffly and slowly from the kitchen to the dining hall eventually waking up my motor systems again to skate once more. To be greeted by no children I began to search for them not finding anybody child, adult or staff member. I could just make out chica stood in between two of the tables

Where were the children? Where was Liz? Why was it night time? Why had Chica called me out?

My audio systems picked up the sound of a camera turning, the sound of whirring and cocked my attention to the source of the noise.

"He-here to se-serve?".
Since my annual end of summer cold has caught up to me and decked me like a train, I wrote this in my sleep deprived state whilst battling a sneeze fit.

I decided to write up Bo's "dismissal" from service and his awakening for his first night at Freddy's.... DA why is posting stories so much of a faff now xD

It kind of gives me a chance to expand on and explain a few of my headcanons for FNaF (pre '87) down here if you're interested ^^

Headcanon spam

:bulletblack: When the animatronics were allowed to free roam they, had a staff member who would accompany them, aid them known as a handler. These handlers were better paid than most of the staff at Freddy's and actually seemed to enjoy their jobs being able to interact on a friendly level with the animatronics and have some degree of control over them. After '87 the handlers were fired much to the upset of the animatronics who proceeded to misbehave more often.
:bulletblack: The animatronics have a very vast memory and can remember many details both visual and audio from the moment they were activated. They can recognise children (as they age), recognise voices, recognise staff. They can also recognise emotions, expressions.
:bulletblack: They can't express emotions in the way a human can however they can mimic them.
:bulletblack: The animatronics were once a military project that went bust, the owner bought the endoskeletons, had them reprogrammed to be children's entertainers. Some of the coding for the military protocols still exist hence why they have a sort of duty to protect, entertain, look after the children that come to Freddy's, their handlers.
:bulletpurple: The animatronics like Bonnie, Chica don't understand human terms like "being Fired" to them it is "being put into storage", Freddy and Foxy are a bit smarter and understand more complex human matters, terms (If you said you were ill they'd understand).

Now this one I expect a few people may disagree on but hear me out please (I found the ghost/dead kids theory a bit cliche and silly and until Scott himself says it's canon on the FNaF page on Steam or the proper website it's not canon to me)...
:bulletblack: The ghosts of the dead children are not possessing the animatronics they are acting out of their own accord. The infamous children saga however was witnessed by the animatronics. The man who lured the children away was a security guard and he was dressed in the golden Freddy suit (a prototype for Freddy himself) over his uniform. Chica was picking up on sounds of a distressed & crying child from offstage, while the rest of the children were busy playing on the arcade machines or in the play area or eating (otherwise distracted) she signaled to the other three animatronics (Foxy was allowed in the dining room at that point) and they ventured backstage to the storage room to find the man disposing of the last child (killing them, stuffing the into bin bags & chucking them down the rubbish chute). The animatronics tore the costume off and killed the guy before stuffing him and the costume into one of the large bins out back. Concerned for the implications of their actions Chica wanting to inform the staff, Freddy warning that they would be blamed and terminated leaving the restaurant exposed. They kept it quiet. Now they perceive the security guard position & uniform as something that is dangerous to the children that attend the restaurant.

:bulletblack: also about the whole being jammed into a suit.... I kind of think that previous Security guy was over exaggerating a bit, the game over screen kind of leaves it up to you what happens.

If you disagree with these headcanons that's fine ^^ feel free to disagree in a constructive way, "that headcanon is shit" doesn't quite count I'm afraid.

Kind of sequel/prequel: Night 8
Kind of a FnAF 2 nod: Grand Reopening

“Military project”.

This might explain the animatronics’ aggressiveness and stealth capability in FNAF AR, but there are lots of links are still missing. Not to mention in AR, they’re delivered to people (as players) who can repair (or reanimate?) and “have a lot of fun” with them.

My speculation is vague, but also hard to fully deny the possibility of involvement with military techs.
